On Friday, September 20, 2025, we invite you to experience a truly unique movie night featuring Berry Gordy’s The Last Dragon, enhanced with a live, custom soundtrack from SHAOLIN JAZZ.

This free outdoor screening is part of our mission to make Skyland Town Center events more than entertainment—they are opportunities for neighbors to come together, celebrate culture, and enjoy Southeast DC in a whole new way.

Created by SHAOLIN JAZZ, Can I Kick It? blends kung fu films with hip-hop, funk, and soul. As the movie plays, DJ 2-Tone Jones remixes each scene with a live soundtrack, transforming the film into an electrifying multimedia experience. It’s this type of creativity that defines Skyland Town Center events—always fresh, unexpected, and free to attend.

About the Movie: The Last Dragon

One of the most beloved cult classics of the 1980s, The Last Dragon follows Leroy Green, a martial artist on his journey to become the next Bruce Lee. Along the way, he encounters villains, challenges, and his own destiny in a story that is equal parts action, comedy, and inspiration.

Paired with SHAOLIN JAZZ’s live soundtrack, this Skyland Town Center event brings new energy to the film, making it a must-see for fans of action, music, and retro pop culture.
